Very calming, nice drum sounds (from what I can hear in these built-in speakers).
It might work a little better if you halved the speed of the drums. At the moment it's quite upbeat and could work better with the melody if it was halved.
Apart from tht it's actually a really good song, just what I was in the mood for.
Definitely checking out your other stuff.

I didn't notice any apparent bass, but it's a cool song nontheless.
That staccato sound that comes in at 6 seconds then again at 12 seconds, I'm not too keen on it, it sounds like a Sytrus Preset, I may be wrong though.
It sounds too thin, if you were to make it fill up more frequencies then it could improve the song a lot more imo.
What software are you moving to, btw?
Author's Response:
Thx man. Yeah... I low cut the kick, then layered it. I found it had so much oomphf that I didnt need to add a bass.

This is my personal favourite of the four you just posted in the adv. thread.
It's very upbeat, the riff is catchy, so is the melody of the vocal. The lyrics are great as well, light-hearted but not toooooo silly. ha. I do prefer the zombies that are liek super humans tbh.
My only beef is with the vocals. You can argue that punk singers just shout or whatever, I'm not that into punk myself, but I didn't get along with the vocals in this track. Apart from that it's good.
5'd.

Yeah I know, I normally don't yell like that either. The song just kinda needed.

It sounds like you've just downloaded a midi from somewhere and applied instruemtns to the tracks.
The instruments chosen don't actually sound that good, like that first sound that comes in.
Have a go and make your own sounds some time, and arrange the song yourself, even if you didn't compose it. But this sounds like you just downloaded it and wapped some sounds onto it.

The intro is good. It's just enough to make you not lose interest and wait for the track to build up. The bass sounds really good in this bit, from what I can hear. My built in speakers aren't great at pumping out the low-end.
When it hits into the drop at the 1 minute mark it seemed to take a wrong turn. Not necesarily a bad one. But the synths used made it feel more mellow than what was expected after the intro. I was expecting something a bit more hard hitting with a harsh lead.
I loved the crowd cheers. You pulled it off without making it cheesey, like so many other songs.
You obviously have a fairly good idea of what you're doing, for someone fairly new to what they're doing.
5'd
Author's Response:
Thanks for the 5. And thanks for just coming to listen to the song, means alot.
Ya, it does take a mellow turn, however after this uploaded version ends I lull for a minute then come back hard. Hopefully I don't lose the audience with the mellowness. I wrote this in mind that it will be heard over again, so having the mellow part kinda is like OMG, i can't wait for the 4 minute area for it to come in hard.
I spent a lot of time on the crowd so it wouldn't be cheesy. I've heard amateur stuff with crowds and its annoying, I almost didn't use it, but its a club song and it needs the club feel of the crowd to be truly enjoyed online, though i would think not to put the crowd sound if played at a club.
Thanks so much for the review.

I can't say it's any worse that what some actual hip-hop producers have created.
For me though I'm more of a fan of using real drums and loops for percussion in hip-hop. It just sounds more, thingymabob.
As far as the kick and the snare go, I can't complain, I'm not feeling that hat, though, maybe something a bit more sizzly with the high end EQ'd.
Maybe if you cut up the guitar a bit to make it sound less like it was recorded in one go you could get some good effects. But that's just my preference.

The saw lead and the percussion reminded me of them "Animusic" albums. Especially the first song from the first album.
The overall track made me feel like I was floating through this advert though: http://www.visit4info.com/advert/Kell oggs-Coco-Pops-Moons-Stars-What-Goes-
On-in-that-Bowl-Kelloggs-Cereal-Range /59197
That's a good thing. Coco Pops Moons & Stars taste really nice. 5'd.

It doesn't sound like a video game. (this is from your response tp Vengeance's reveiw btw)
Video game (Gameboy, NES, SNES, etc etc.) are 8bit/chiptune. This is MIDI.
Take the midi file from this and import it into a sequencer and use it with some chiptune VSTs.
And yeah, I think the NES could only play something like 4 "instruments" at a time.
Overall it's not bad, it definately would work for what you composed it for, you just need to upload a proper song, not the midi.

This was decent, except for the drums.
I'd look for a hi-hat and cymbal that is more sizzle-y, then EQ the high end on it so it sounds quite thin. The ones used at the moment seem a bit more angry and sort of kill the mood of the song.
Also, the snare could be replaced with something a bit more calm. At the moment it's out of place with the kick. The kick is really mellow and laid back, and the snare it a bit too aggressive for the overall picture.
However, everything else sounds good! Keep it up.
